"From the smallest object to a large exterior, all projects of Doorzon are playful, colourful, joyful. Caroline Lateur and Stefanie Everaert don’t get tired to play with forms, patterns, textures, volumes; they are everything but shy using colours, the joy they have in thinking and making interiors radiates from their drawings, collages, models and realised projects. Looking at their oeuvre, the pleasure in design seems to be their drive, the joy seems to be steady. But it takes a lot to keep being so and not everyday is a sunny day.

German graphic designer Otl Aicher (1922-1991) once wrote “Design means relating thinking and doing to each other. Aesthetics without ethics tends towards deception.” In an oeuvre aesthetically so appealing as Doorzon’s, this statement is particularly pertinent since Caroline and Stefanie are deeply engaged with interior architecture as a discipline on its own right. Since the beginning of their joined practice they have committed themselves specifically to the establisment and recognition of this discipline, which faces challenges in the broad world of architecture."
